Congratulations to our MDPhD student Elisa Nabel who was awarded the best poster award at Friedman Brain Institute Neuroscience Retreat!
By appliying a systematic computational screen of hundreds of diseases for their impact on neuroplasticity, we found that inflammation disrupts plasticity in mice. This work suggests that inflammation during the childhood could have unrecognized negative consequences on the neurodevelopmental trajectory. This study is the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration between the bioinformatics lab of Joel Dudley and neuroplasticity lab of Hirofumi Morishita at Mount Sinai.
Congratulations to our MDPhD student Elisa Nabel who was awarded a NRSA individual predoctoral fellowship from NIH!
Hiro was honored to receive an Inaugural Faculty Innovative Collaborations-Idea Prize together with our collaborator Dr. Arora Manish. The Faculty Idea Prize is designed to highlight a collaborative, innovative, research idea by young investigators that can potentially be translated into a marketable product. The results of the collaborative project idea should go beyond what is possible through individual PI-driven research, and should enable launching of a multidisciplinary project that can create value through the development of therapeutics, devices, diagnostics, or digital health applications
Congratulations to our postoc Mari Sajo who was awarded the 2015 - 2016 Knights Templar Eye Foundation Career-starter research grant for her research titled "Novel strategy to discover the drugs for Amblyopia".
